Freshwater Tennis Tournament
The Freshwater Tennis Tournament was held over the past week and was definitely the best ever.
Many matches went to the third set tiebreaker. The tennis was fast and furious but all showed exemplary good sportsmanship, good humour and even generosity with some line calls!
Winners were:
Ladie's Singles: Gurianna Smith
Ladies Doubles: Wendy Rider and Kim Hodges
Men's Singles: Fred Lay
Men's Doubles: Rhan Burton and Josh Small
Mixed Doubles: Corlea Saayman and Fred Lay
Our heartfelt thanks to Corlea Saayman for preparing the draw and running the tournament with John Owens as a hobbling offsider. Tom Bentley was the Tournament sponsor and Richard Johnston donated the Boerewors as reward to a couple of volunteers. Thanks also to all those who prepared the barbecue food and did all those other things that make an event a success.
